Arpa Industriale Spa
Arpa high-pressure decorative rolled sections are manufactured in their 150,000 sq.m plant in Bra, Piedmont, and are an expression of the lively and original creativity of Made in Italy.

Intervention
In 2011, the board of Arpa Industriale, in compliance with company policy, decided to reduce the environmental impact by optimising its production processes.
To reduce the high consumption of natural gas, heat recovery was carried out from fumes having a high enthalpy content emissions from production processes by installing three regenerators:
- two fume/air regenerators, which recover heat contained in exhaust fumes from post combustion chambers to generate hot air at 120°C. This intervention is translated into a simultaneous reduction in heat generated from the burners and relative consumption of natural gas.
- a fumes/water regenerator to recover heat contained in the exhaust fumes from previous recuperators, generating hot water at 95°C to be exclusively used for DHW and/or heating rooms
Tholos to obtain TEEs
With regard to this project, Tholos undertook to manage the procedure required to acquire the EECs and their sale in the energy market (IPEX-Italian Power Exchange).
Tholos monitors system data and checks the correct operation of the measuring instruments and the system itself, checking the energy flows measured via a remote control system implemented in collaboration with Endress+Hauser, which provided the My Energy system. This system signals any system efficiency drops in order to readjust the system immediately, which is important since it is directly linked to savings for the client and to obtaining TEEs.
Results
Primary energy savings (natural gas) obtained annually are certified to be 550 TOE, which is equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of approximately 600 households.
Applying the Tau coefficient of durability, which is equivalent to 3.36, to these savings, the annual Energy Efficiency Certificate is approximately 1850, which, in five years of envisaged financial reporting amounts to an overall 9250 TEEs.
